I want to go deeper with Yoga! What's next?

A 300-hour teacher training is an important step on the path of teaching yoga. It is not onlw the second and final step to gaining your 500-hr RYT certification, but it is the educational experience that truly elevates the knowledge and expertise of a teacher. Our 300-hour training is unique, not only because it is one of only two trainings offered in Nashville, but additionally, we bring in a unique blend of educated and experienced faculty from all over Nashville and the US. The training consists of 10 weekend modules – 5 required modules and 5 elective modules. The individual modules are each filled with fascinating yoga teachings and practical experience to give you a fuller immersion in each subject. These weekends are open to both teachers and anyone interested in learning more about the yoga tradition and deepening their practice. You don’t have to be a 200-hour teacher or even plan on becoming a teacher to participate in the courses. Over the span of 9 months, we offer 15 modules to choose from to earn your 500-hr RYT. However, you don’t have to complete the training in 9 months or even within a year. These courses are offered every year, so you can go at your own pace – take 18 months or a couple of years to gain your certification. There’s no rush! Additionally, many of the individual courses offered in the 300-hr training serve as 30-hour Continuing Education credits, required of all yoga teachers by Yoga Alliance every 2 years.

For individuals who are already 200-hr certified teachers, this 300-hr training will truly take your teaching to the next level, not to mention bringing inspiration and depth to your personal practice. In the RYT system, the 200-hr training is like getting your bachelor’s degree, which gives you enough information to start teaching and feel comfortable with the subject matter, generally speaking, but if you want to become an expert on certain subjects in yoga or styles of teaching, you have to get your Master’s degree. The 200-hr trainings are wonderful for painting the teachings in broad strokes, while much time and attention is given to developing the logistics and the craft of planning and teaching classes.

However, when you continue your learning at the “Master’s” level, you are able to spend much more time focusing on the subjects you are most interested in. The 300-hr training is designed to focus on in-depth learning in the art of teaching. Each of the required modules focuses on a specific aspect of teaching yoga – for example, Advanced Yoga Anatomy, Advanced Hands-on Assists, and Finding Your Voice / Developing Your Unique Gifts as a Teacher. These courses most not only boost your knowledge and confidence as a teacher but allow you to offer a higher level of expertise and safely guide students to new levels in their practices.
