Yoga Experience: Karawan took her first Hot26 class and had no idea what she was getting into, but during the class she was able to be fully present the entire time. There was something that kept bringing her back to the practice, and the obsession is still going! This practice has allowed her to learn about who she is in life, breakthrough a lot of her fears and limiting beliefs, and given her permission to dive deeper within herself.
Hobbies: I enjoy being in nature, having profound conversations with people, cooking, holding space for others and I LOVE ancient wisdom practices/teachings they make life make sense to me, and dry sense of humor makes me appreciate the human experience on a deeper level.

Yoga Experience: After 15 years as a competitive gymnast, Meg found the practice of Yoga and immediately fell in love with the connection of breath to movement. Practicing Yoga filled her with the same freedom felt from playing and creating music. After realizing that Yoga is not just a physical practice, she was able to find a deeper connection to the body & mind.
Teaching Style: Meg’s passion is bringing mindful, playful movement to all bodies at all levels. She strives to hold a safe, compassionate space for all.

Yoga Experience: Jimy began researching the mental and emotional health of yoga for years but carried the fear of trying something new. One morning she decided not to over think it, rolled out of bed and drove to a yoga studio. Yoga gave Jimy a space where joy can filter out of any fear. Now she can’t live without it!
Hobbies: traveling, hanging out with my dog (Boyd), creating vegetarian recipes, reading, working out
Most Daring Thing: Accidentally skiing down a blue slope in Whistler, Canada without much experience

Yoga Experience: Tony started practicing regularly in 2008 and learned early in his journey that yoga is much more than a physical practice. Tony has been teaching since 2012 and he encourages students to bring openness, awareness and non-judgment to their practices. His sense of humor and positive energy provide students with the opportunity to be challenged while pursuing their practice in a safe, light-hearted and free-spirited atmosphere.
Hobbies: Walking daily with his two dogs, Cooking, Taking care of his plants, and Watching scary movies.
Fun Facts: Tony was a principal dancer in Sweet Dreams, and a movie about Patsy Cline.

Hometown: Franklin, TN
Yoga Experience: Cat grew up watching her mom practice yoga and started joining her in high school, continuing whenever she was home from college. In 2017, a gig as a barista at Wanderlust yoga festival sparked a passion that quickly turned into a practice and lifestyle. She earned her 200-hour certification with HYE in Montana in 2023 and has been teaching ever since!
Hobbies: Gardening, photography, cooking, and spending time in nature.
Most Daring Thing: After college, Cat took a nonconventional path, living in a van and working barista gigs at festivals while hiking and exploring national parks during her downtime. This journey helped her uncover new perspectives and connect with nature in meaningful ways, with hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back standing out as a truly transformative experience.

Yoga Experience: She discovered yoga about 25 years ago by watching early morning TV and was intrigued by it so much that she tried some of the postures. She practiced yoga off and on since then but really depended her practice after the passing of my husband. My very first group yoga class was at the YMCA, and in the 2018, she made her way to Hot Yoga East Nashville. The took one Hot Yoga Class and was instantly hooked! She never dreamed of becoming a yoga teacher at age 69, but the yoga has always been there for her, and she is now blessed to be teaching it others!.
Hobbies: Anna Marie loves a good sunset, reading, spending time with my family, and of course Yoga!

Yoga Experience: Chirag discovered yoga in 2015 at a brewery in Charlotte, NC, and through it, he began to appreciate the importance of the mind-body connection. He has enjoyed taking classes around the world, including a hot 26 class taught in Spanish in Buenos Aires and sunrise vinyasa flows in the rice fields of Bali. In 2023, Chirag earned his RYT-200 certification from Hot Yoga East Nashville.
Hobbies: storytelling, dinners with friends, and watching the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Most Daring Thing: “Either falling in love or scuba diving. The latter, I may only do once!”

Yoga Experience: Kitty started practicing yoga at the age of 18 and it has been a pillar in her life ever since. She found a new perspective and deepened her practice during the 3 years she lived in India and in 2002 took the Hot Yoga East Nashville 200-hr teacher training program. Kitty loves the heat and challenge of a moving meditation and loves to share this practice with the HYEN community.
Loves: When she is not at the studio you can find her spending time with her two sweet girls, hiking and traveling.

Yoga Experience: Emily was first introduced to yoga by her high school soccer coach. She actually wasn’t that great at soccer… but a love for yoga was born. Emily obtained her 200-hr certification at Hot Yoga of East Nashville in 2023. She believes yoga is for every body, at every age, stage, and ability, and that all can benefit from its balance of challenges: transformation and acceptance, strength and softness, effort and ease.
Loves: She lives in East Nashville with her husband, two dogs, and a geriatric cat.

Yoga Experience: Jessica began her yoga journey in 2019 as part of her rehabilitation after surgery and quickly fell in love with the practice. Driven to deepen her understanding, she earned her teacher certification through HYEN in 2023. Jessica is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga with the East Nashville community, helping others enhance their lives through its transformative power.
Hobbies: Outside of yoga, she enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and spending time with her daughter and husband.

Hometown: Charleston, SC
Yoga Experience: She took her first Bikram class in 2010 at the invite of her mom’s friend. At the time, she was in college and struggling with debilitating panic attacks. After that first class, she knew she had found something very special. Regular practice put an end to the attacks, and she resolved to make it a lifelong commitment. In 2014, she attended Bikram’s teacher training in Los Angeles and have since taught across the Southeast and practiced around the world. She loves that this community can be found anywhere you go, and she’s always amazed by how many people find healing through this practice for so many different ailments.
Hobbies: Snuggling with her two dogs & two cats, collecting folk art, practicing Italian, doing the crossword, watching horror movies

Yoga Experience: Alison took her very first hot yoga class in 2017 at HYEN, and her practice has been transforming her mentally, physically, and spiritually ever since. She has been teaching since 2020 and is certified in both Vinyasa and Hot 26.
Hometown: Memphis, TN; she has been calling Nashville home since 2005.
Full-time Gig: Pediatric occupational therapist specializing in assistive technology
Hobbies: Hiking, live music, training dogs, and traveling.
Loves: Dairy-free chai lattes, her husband, Pete, and their 3 pups, Penny, Cooper, and Marley.

Most Daring things: Beginning the "forever journey" of self-discovery and transformation, leaving an established career in sales to attend graduate school to become an OT, & finishing Hot 26 teacher training as someone who has a fear of public speaking.

Yoga Experience: Adelle started out popping into classes at her local gym to help with muscle soreness from running track and cross country in high school and continued to deepen her practice through all seasons of life.

Most Daring Thing: She moved to moved to Nashville not knowing anyone and most recently quit her job to open her own skin care studio.

Yoga Experience: Alex first walked into a hot yoga class sometime in 2010 and immediately fell in love with the moving meditation. She finally got her teacher certification in 2022 and now loves to help others find that same passion for moving, sweating, and playing on the mat.
Main Gig: Alex is a school teacher in Nashville when she’s not teaching at Hot Yoga East!
Fun Fact: Alex just ran her first marathon and qualified for Boston on her first try!

Chelsea took her first Bikram yoga class in 2008 in Chicago and fell in love with the challenge and benefits of this yoga. After playing college soccer and running marathons in her 20’s, she loved finding a similar level of intensity in the 26&2 series without the constant pounding on the body. She later moved to Cincinnati where there was no hot studio, so within the next 2 years, she completed the Bikram training and opened the first hot yoga studio in Cincinnati. Chelsea relocated to Nashville in 2015 with her family (2 kids, husband, and 2 dogs) and is excited to share her passion for this series with the East Nashville yoga community!

Yoga Experience: First class was at Bikram Yoga Seattle 13 years ago. She reluctantly went with her room mate but was haunted by that first class until she went back again and again, and eventually became a daily hot yoga junkie.
Hobbies: road trips, hiking, cycling, running with girlfriends, and creating new businesses.
Most Daring Thing: Sold off everything I owned, left my friends, family and security to drive to Nashville with the dream of opening a hot yoga studio in the neighborhood of East Nashville.

Hometown: Memphis TN.
Yoga Experience: 4 years of practice in Vinyasa and Hot 26 yoga. He has recently started sprinkling Bhakti Yoga into his practice.
Main & Side Gigs: Kirk is a payroll specialist by day and waits tables a couple nights a week as another side hustle.
Loves: two grown children, creating and collecting art, discovering amazing music, and exploring realms of consciousness.
Most Daring Thing: Leaving his hometown to move to San Francisco at 19, after hatching the plan the night before with a girl he barely knew. We abandoned our broken-down car in the middle of Texas to continue our adventure by thumb - dead broke & meeting many colorful characters along the way.

Hobbies & Life Works: She considers coffee and red wine daily rituals. She has spent most of her adult life traveling on the road as a musician with her old band, Native Run, as well as a background singer and percussionist for various artists, most recently, Hozier.
